I have been working at Trader Joe’s since 2017 creating signs for products that come into our store. The signs vary from small shelf signs, painted black board displays to Wall installation signs.
Orchid Project Beginnings
Here I show my creative process from drawings to cut outs and then the final result just below.
Social Media Sign
Conceptualizing what the Social Media say would say and look like.
Starting to color pencil the first outline of the idea of a cell phone displaying a social media interface.
As well, drawing out the certain social media icons Trader Joe's uses.
Then, picked out the main typeface that I would use for the main catch phrase, "Catch the Latest".
The whole sign fully outlined.
And ready to be spray painted with a gradient from blue to white.
Added and mixed colors with paint pens to make the icons, iPhone and phrase stand out.
